Close-up framing, sharpness and blur: tricks to show the perfection of dishes that were not born to be photographed, but rather eaten. Photography techniques that go for the big prize: inspire taste and appetite. We know that Pastis is as great in Bonifacio as it is pretty much unknown in the nearby Santa Teresa. Every setup suggests the ideal place for a given dish, which is otherwise photographed during its creation, when the chef gives it the final touches.
I started with food photography 20 years ago when at Cala di Volpe Hotel and I never stopped ever since, if not to taste – after every photoshoot – the dishes of the amazing chefs I was lucky enough to work with.
